摘要：

李健吾是我国著名的莫里哀喜剧研究专家与翻译家。本文为针对李健吾莫里哀喜剧翻译译者行为的批评研究。译者行为批评研究属于翻译社会学研究,研究翻译文本之外的译者身份和角色对翻译文本即译文质量的影响。本文从翻译目的、译者能力以及翻译观念等方面对译者在翻译文本外的努力进行讨论,并以李译《伪君子》为例,对其翻译文本内的特征作出分析。研究认为,李健吾之所以能用贴切、灵动的译语“重写”原作,既离不开他对原作的深入研究、对翻译活动的正确理解,也离不开他的戏剧创作能力与表演经验。也就是说,李健吾的译外行为是其文本内翻译取得成功的基础和保障。李健吾“研究—翻译—创作”的译者行为模式、严谨踏实的治学与翻译精神对于当前的翻译研究者与实践者都具有重要的借鉴意义。

Abstract:

This paper analyzes the translator behavior in Li Jianwu’s translation of Molière’s comedy. The study of translator behavior criticism is a sociological study on the impact of the translator’s identity and role on the quality of the translated text. Li Jianwu is one of the most famous researchers and translators of Molière’s comedy in China. The paper presents a discussion of Li Jianwu’s extratextual effort in translation purpose, ability, concepts, etc., and it analyzes the characteristics of his interpretation through the example of his translation of Tartuffe. It is reasonable to believe that without a profound study of the original work, a correct understanding of the translation activity, and his ability and experience in drama creation, Li Jianwu could not have suitably and flexibly “rewritten” the original piece. In summary, Li Jianwu’s extra-translation behavior is the foundation and guarantee of his successful translation. Li Jianwu’s Research-Translation-Creation behavior model of translation, his rigorous scholarship and his down-to-earth translation spirit provide insights of significant value for researchers and practitioners of translation.
