文学名著重译的理由与意义——以《尤利西斯》汉译为例

摘要： 为什么文学翻译不乏经典，却难有“定本”？本文以《尤利西斯》翻译为例，通过语言发展规律和读者接受理论等视角的分析，认为随着时代的发展、语言以及读者欣赏趣味的变化，对某些文学名著的重译是必要的，其原因既有语言和文学的，也有社会和文化的。

Abstract: Although there are many translations of classics, no one can become the substitute of the original in any other languages. Through analysis of the Chinese translation of Ulysses with the theories of linguistics and reader’s reception, we believe the retrans-lation of the literary classics is necessary. The reasons for retranslation lie mostly in the change and development of languages and reader’s appreciation as well as the development of society and culture.
