Abstract: "Lu Xun Library" in the Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic was proposed and founded by Czech sinology founder— professor Jaroslav Pr?šek and was officially opened in Prague on October 24, 1952. It is the only overseas library named after Lu Xun, a symbol of Sino-Czech traditional friendship and Pr?šek’s permanent memorial of Lu Xun. It also has great significance in the history of sinology research in Czech. Pr?šek initiated the academic tradition of Chinese modern literature research and successfully cultivated a group of young scholars dedicated to the study of Chinese culture who were referred to as "Prague sinology school" by the international sinology for their meticulous scholarship, systematic translation studies and unique academic contribution. As an important base for introducing and studying Chinese language and culture, "Lu Xun Library" has a far-reaching influence on the development of Czech sinology. The establishment of "Lu Xun Library" marks a new stage in the Czech sinology research and Sino-Czech cultural relation. At the same time, it provides for us a new perspective and reference to reflect on the history of the social and cultural exchanges in China from foreign eyes.
