摘要/Abstract

摘要： 本文旨在对当代西方文学批评中新近兴起的动物研究加以述评。动物研究集跨学科性和跨文化性于一体，深入探讨动物的伦理地位问题，批判人与动物二元对立的思想中所折射的人类中心主义，深刻挖掘物种歧视与种族歧视、阶级歧视、性别歧视之间的勾连共谋，揭示文学及文化再现方式对动物的掠夺式利用。其目标是促成人类在生态共同体中的重新定位，以谦卑之心面对其他物种伙伴，实现人与动物的历史性和解。同时，动物研究为解读文学中的动物意象提供了全新的理论视角和批评话语，在象征和隐喻意义之外还原动物的生命主体身份，揭示它们的苦乐，从而唤起读者的动物伦理意识。

Abstract: Animal studies explore the ethical identity of animals and critique the anthropocentrism in the human/animal binary thinking of Western culture. It unearths the collaboration between speciesism and racism, classism, and sexism and reveals the exploitative nature in the literary and cultural representation of animals. The goal of animal studies is to promote a redefinition of the human identity in the ecological community and achieve a historical reconciliation of humans and non-human animals. Furthermore, animal studies provide a new perspective and critical discourse for the interpretation of animal images in literature. Efforts are made to restore their identity as subjects of life rather than as merely symbols and metaphors.
