摘要/Abstract

摘要： 《黑人的灵魂》是非裔美国学者杜波依斯的扛鼎之作，它以深刻的思想和精练的语言确立了在美国文学史上的地位。对黑人灵歌的独特运用是该书的一大亮点，也是其灵魂所在。为进一步探析杜波依斯的文学贡献以及美国黑人文化与文学传统，本文将对黑人灵歌的隐喻意义及其所折射出的黑人种族创伤进行阐释。黑人灵歌不仅有着独特的艺术与审美价值，作为集体记忆的载体，它亦有着重要的种族意义。杜波依斯将音乐与文字结合，也呈现出非裔美国文学口头文学的传统，这无论对于文化传统的传承还是非裔美国文学的发展都有启迪意义。

Abstract: The Souls of Black Folk, African American Scholar W.E.B Du Bois’s most significant and influential book, finds its place in the history of African American literature as well as the history of American literature with its profound thoughts and refined language. The application of spirituals is one of the outstanding sections and the soul of the book. This paper tries to explore the metaphorical meaning of spirituals and present its artistic value with the reflection of racial trauma in order to have a better understanding of Du Bois’s literary contribution as well as African American culture and literature. The spiritual, for African American people, as the carrier of collective memory, contains great racial meaning with unique and aesthetic value of art. Du Bois has demonstrated African American oral tradition and folk culture with a perfect combination of music and words, which also promotes the development of African American literature.
