Abstract: Willingness to Communicate (WTC) has been recently a hot topic in the field of L2 related individual difference (ID) research. Yet, so far most studies on L2 WTC conducted with Chinese learners of English have been centered on the investigation of L2 WTC and its underlying variables by learners in traditional language classroom setting. Growing importance has been attached to the role of the Internet in language learning, with the development of globalization and the on-going teaching reform of college English in our country. Therefore, to investigate the L2 WTC of Chinese English learners reckoning with the role of the Internet may shed some new light. The author investigated L2 WTC and its underlying variables by Chinese college learners of English and provided possible suggestions on the promotion of learners’ L2 WTC in the web-based environment.

摘要: 交际意愿是二语习得领域学习者个体差异研究近年来的新热点。国内交际意愿研究大多考察传统教学模式下,大学生的交际意愿现状及影响因素。全球化浪潮和当前的大学英语教学改革使得网络对大学英语教学以及大学生英语学习的影响越来越大,因而探索网络环境下大学生的交际意愿问题具有重要意义。本文通过问卷调查对网络环境下大学生课堂内外交际意愿的现状及相关影响因素进行了分析,并结合研究结果提出了网络情境下提高学习者交际意愿的建议。
