Abstract: Being the Best Picture of Oscar in 2007，No Country for Old Men depicts a complicated runaway-chasing story among a cowboy，a killer and a sheriff in the 1980s．With the combination of the social change and transformation theories，this thesis takes advantage of the psychoanalysis and text analysis to demonstrate their psychological changes during 1970s~1980s．The thesis is going to present Americans’ psychology and morality during this period；meanwhile，the deficiency of national morality and spiritual construction is also revealed by indicating the overemphasis on economic prosperity and material abundance．

摘要： 作为2007年第80届奥斯卡最佳影片，《老无所依》将20世纪70到80年代的美国社会作为故事背景，讲述了一个发生在西德克萨斯，围绕牛仔、杀手和警察之间的追杀与逃亡的故事。本文将在社会学的社会变革与社会转型理论指导之下，结合心理分析和电影文本分析的方法来解析片中3位主人公在社会转型中各自心理上的变化，以及社会环境的变化给他们带来的影响。借助于上述理论和分析方法，本文一方面意在描绘20世纪70、80年代美国人在社会转型期间的精神和道德状况以及传统习俗的丧失；另一方面揭示国家对于经济和物质利益的过度偏重所造成的对其国民在道德和精神领域的消极作用。
