Ecological Analysis of Discourse: An Exploratory Study on Education of Ecological Literacy in College English Teaching

生态话语分析路径:大学英语教学中的生态素养教育探究

Abstract:

Civilization co-exists with ecology. Colleges are responsible for cultivating undergraduates’ ecological literacy during their college life. The present study has aimed to gain insights into the applicability of ecolinguistics in the cultivation of ecological literacy in college English classes. By means of discourse analysis, three conclusions about students’ ecological literacy cultivation in the framework of ecolinguistics have been drawn: a) the green concepts constructed through the study of green grammar are helpful to cultivate students’ ecological literacy; b) eco-metaphor studies can raise the students’ ecological awareness; and c) ecosophy is critical in the field of harmonious discourse analysis. The study shows that under the theoretical framework of ecolinguistics, Eco-College-English course can be an accessible way to promote the education of ecological literacy.

摘要:

生态兴则文明兴,生态衰则文明衰。生态素养不是与生俱来的,而是在后天的教育环境中不断积累和发展的,高等学校应担负起培养大学生生态素养的大任。本文在生态语言学视域下,讨论以生态话语分析路径的大学英语教学实现大学生生态素养教育的可行性。研究发现,绿色语法研究是对语言中的非生态因素进行批评重构的过程,可以使学生清楚地认识生态事物关系;生态隐喻研究是发掘新时代隐喻的过程,可以唤醒学生的生态意识;和谐话语分析研究是引导学生获得生态体验的过程,可以帮助学生树立正确的生态观。研究结果表明,生态话语分析路径的大学英语教学以语言为出发点,关注语言如何影响和处理生态环境问题,可以帮助学生认清生态事物关系、唤醒生态意识,引导其树立生态观,是阶段性推行高校生态素养教育的可行途径之一。
