Journal of Beijing International Studies Universit, 2014, 36(9): 10-.
Abstract( )   [HTML]()   PDF(4271KB)( )
The argument about whether tourism resources are movable has never stopped. Based on this question and further discusssion, the paper clarifies the definitions of tourism resources and movability, and then makes a distinction between tourism resources and tourism products. This paper places particular emphasis on the movability of the intangible cultural tourism resources and their corresponding tourism products, which is a highly controversial topic in tourism studies. The conclusion that whether tourism resources are movable depends on the type of tourism resources. Natural tourism resources and tangible cultural tourism resources are immovable in terms of their objective formation process. The previous statement that “intangible cultural tourism resources are movable” is wrong. That is, the word “movability” can’t be used to describe the intangible cultural tourism resources for there are no spatial attributes in themselves. However, tourism products based on intangible cultural tourism resources are movable instead.
