摘要： 文章梳理了徐梵澄在翻译领域所取得的成果和理论贡献，从其人其事、其译其作、其述其论方面归还徐先生翻译家应有的身份和地位，进而探析其翻译实践和理论对中国、西方、印度文化交流的多重影响，对推进当前翻译名家研究有着重要意义。

Abstract: Based on a survey on great achievements by Xu Fancheng，a long-neglected translator and scholar，the present paper outlines Xu’s life experiences and deeds，translations and his perceptions and insights on translation with a view to reseating him as an outstanding translator and translation theorist. Also the great influence of his translation practice and theory on the multilevel exchanges among the Chinese， Western and Indian cultures are discussed，which is of great significance for advancing the current translation studies in China.
