“中国经济”新闻价值的话语建构与媒体选择

摘要：

新闻价值是新闻报道的生命线，虽然其本身具有客观性，但新闻价值的实现深受各种社会因素尤其是新闻工作者话语实践的影响。本研究以英国10家纸媒在后金融危机时代的涉华经济报道为语料，采用Bednarek和Caple提出的新闻价值话语分析框架，借助语料库技术对不同新闻机构报道相同新闻事件时所关注的新闻价值要素进行关键词对比分析，以揭示相关媒体是如何使用语言来建构并凸显不同新闻价值要素的。研究发现，英国大报和小报在建构“中国经济”新闻价值时均将重要性和负面性等视为重要新闻价值要素，但二者在判断何种事实才具备上述属性方面存在较大差异。本研究通过剖析不同媒体在新闻价值要素的选取、报道主题及语言资源上的差异，揭示其价值取向与立场偏向，为从语言学角度对新闻价值进行深入研究提供了有益参考。

Abstract:

News value is the lifeline of news reporting. Although it is inherently objective, the realization of news values is heavily influenced by various social factors, particularly the discursive practices of journalists. Taking news reports on China’s economy from 10 British newspapers in the post-financial crisis era as the corpus, adopting Bednarek & Caple’s discursive analysis framework of news values, and using corpus technology, this paper conducts a comparative keyword analysis of the news value elements focused on by different news organizations when reporting the same news events, so as to reveal how relevant media use language to construct and highlight different news value elements. The study finds that both British broadsheets and tabloids regard importance and negativity as important news value elements when constructing the news value of “China’s economy”, but there are significant differences between them in judging which facts possess the above-mentioned attributes. By analyzing the differences in the selection of news value elements, reporting themes and linguistic resources among different media, this paper reveals their value orientations and positional biases, providing useful references for the in-depth study of news values from a linguistic perspective.
