Abstract: This paper explores the spatial-temporal evolution of the tourism economy between 2003 and 2010 at county-level in Zhejiang based on the traditional statistical research and space data analysis. The results show that, while the overall level of tourism economic developmentis improved in Zhejiang, the absolute disparities of tourism economic development are increasing and relative disparities are decreasing gradually; spatial structure of tourism economy transfers from the type of dual-nuclei to the type of point-axis. Tourism economy transfers from low level development zone to middle and high level development zone; Matthew effect is found in county tourism economy; spatial distribution of county tourism economy changes from the random distribution to the spatial concentration with “high-high area”and“low-low area”in Zhejiang; the former continues to expand and the latter is shrinking.Based on the analysis above, the causes of disparities are identified and solutions to narrow the disparities among regions are suggested to make tourism economy develop in coordination.
